In 1998, Greyfriars Hall was established by Christ Church, Moscow, ID, as a ministerial training program. Over the last 25 years, Greyfriars Hall has graduated close to twenty students with a letter of recommendation from the session of Christ Church. Most of those graduates are now in full-time pastoral ministry within the Communion of Reformed Evangelical Churches (CREC).

The original program involved three years of study in biblical languages, bible grammar (an overview of the Old Testament and New Testament), biblical hermeneutics, theology, homiletics, biblical counseling, and ministry philosophy. As part of their ministry education, Greyfriars students received personal pastoral mentoring in a local church context.

Throughout the history of Greyfriars, New Saint Andrews has partnered with Christ Church to offer various aspects of the program. For example, since the beginning of the program in 1998, Greyfriars students have taken Biblical Languages through NSA as non-matriculating students. In recent years, Greyfriars students were able to take several additional courses at NSA as part of their curriculum, including Systematic Theology and Biblical Theology.

The launch of the Master of Divinity Degree marks a new chapter in the partnership between New Saint Andrews and Christ Church, combining the academic and theological rigor of the school with the practical ministry and pastoral apprenticeship in the local church.
